On Thursday November 5 we will be holding our second ‘Dance to Remember’. First held in 2013 this was intended as a one-off but so many of those attending asked us to put it on again and thanks to the generosity of our partner, St David’s Foundation, we are able to do so this year.
The Dance will again be held in the beautiful Grand Ballroom at the Shoal Crossing Event Center. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be back at this stunning venue and if you weren’t able to come in 2013 you’re in for a treat! The Dance will be held from 11am to 2pm and lunch is included in the ticket price ($50 per facility).
This is truly a Dance like no other. From the beautiful venue, to a great live band, dance partners, formal portraits and great door prizes this is one your residents won’t want to miss. We encourage everyone to dress up to make the day feel even more special.
Space at Shoal Crossing is limited so reservations will be taken on a first come basis. Registration will open to CASACA members on August 3. Click here to register.
If you would like to support the Dance in other ways, we are currently looking for volunteers. Please review the volunteer roles for more details. We especially need volunteer dance partners, both male and female. No dance experience is necessary, just a willingness to get out on the dance floor with our amazing residents! Send us a note if you’re interested.
We would also love to hear from you if you are able to donate door prizes. We can provide you with a list of ‘luxury’ items most requested by our residents, which can range from some simple jewelry to a lap blanket, favorite candies or a pampering trip to the hair salon!

Our August meeting is this coming Tuesday 6th, at Baby A’s from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. We hope to see lots of you there. We have great news to share about the CASACA Dance and an excellent CEU session on ethics.
If you are involved in activities or therapeutic recreation we encourage you to join CASACA. Our membership page has information on member benefits and online sign-up.
You are welcome to come to one of our meetings to check us out! Meetings are the first Tuesday of each month. Just introduce yourself to Jeff, Maggie or Donna (ask for any of us when you arrive).

Thanks to everyone that came to our Summer Dance on June 20. Over 80 residents came dressed for summer and everyone had their moment on the dance floor! Some never left the dance floor and how we wish we had their energy!
It helped to have great live music, performed by the amazing Backtrax. If you need a band for an event at your building, we highly recommend them.
Congratulations to our winners of Best Decorated Table and our newly crowned King and Queen. Our official photographer, Warren, took a lot of photos and we’ll have a selection at our next CASACA meeting (Tuesday July 2) for you to look through.
And please thank Haley Koop of Marbridge for organizing the Dance. You make it look effortless but we know how much work goes into it.
We look forward to the next one. Stay tuned for more details.

Bring your residents to the June Dance on Thursday June 20. Our theme is ‘Kick Off to Summer’ so wear your summer colors and bold accessories!
The Dance will be held at the VFW Post 8787 in North Austin from 11am to 1pm. Remember to bring lunch/snacks for your residents and decorations for your table. We’ve invited Backtrax to play for us again. The band plays a great selection of hits from the 50s, 60s and more.
The fee is only $10 per facility or $15 at the door. If you plan to attend, please contact our Dance coordinator, Haley Koop. If you aren’t planning to bring residents but would still like to be involved, we would love to have your help in decorating the room, taking photos, escorting residents on the dance floor and helping with clean-up after the event.
Please help us make this a special day for residents. For many of them, the Dances are the one outside event they’re able to participate in. The more the merrier!
